I finally went there.
It’s a running family joke that “Sarah’s not old enough to go to Chicago.”
Well, I recently turned 30… so my YOUNGER sisters decided they should take me there for my birthday.
Funny don’t ya think… My friend and I made detailed, exact plans to go to Chicago the summer after my Freshman year in college. We had everything mapped out. We knew where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see. Slight catch… AFTER we made these great weekend plans BOTH our parents said we couldn’t drive. The plan went down the drain and the running family joke began. What makes it a bit more comical… I’d already been to Sydney Australia 2 years earlier (Sydney, on the other side of the PLANET) AND my younger sister by 3 years had ALREADY been to like 12 foreign countries. 12, people. And my younger sister by 7 years went to California for a WEEK her senior year of high school. Weird, my parents let them do all that and Sarah couldn’t go to Chicago. Chicago, 3 hrs away.
Now that you know the back ground, fast forward to yesterday! The day I went to a city!
Haha, yes, you might laugh but besides Indianapolis and the tour guided trip to Sydney when I was 17 I’d never been in a city. You know with tall buildings and so. many. people!
And birds. I’ve never seen such huge pigeons. I know that’s not what I’m supposed to dwell on but they were really big!
I don’t deny my sheltered life.
Janet and Rachel were my tour guides and Hannah was already going to be there with friends so we planned to meet up with her to see the Vivian Maier exhibit. (video about her here. pretty cool! I’m a fan!)
But anyway, here’s a few iphone images compliments of my sisters and their super cool phones!
Thanks for a great day sisters!!!
