Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite books of 2011

My Favorite Books from 2011

2011: the year I turned 30 (ack!!!), the year we sold our first home and bought a new one, and the year I read 38 books.  Sure, that last one doesn’t sound like such a big deal, but it was a lot for me.  (Having our house on the market gave me plenty of time to wait, and think, AND read!  Plus, for most of the year both of my little ones were taking long afternoon naps!)

From what I can tell, this new year will not provide as much time to read.  So I’m going to be extra picky when it comes choosing my books.  My to-read pile is quite large at the moment, maybe I’ll just need to learn to read faster!

Back to the topic at hand: my 2011 favorite reads.  Turns out it was difficult to choose one or even three favorites… so I narrowed it down to my top ten.

And now, in no particular order, my ten:

The Chosen
One Thousand Gifts
Murder at the Vicarage
Stuff Christians Like
Forgotten God
Organized Simplicity
Gone with the Wind
Healing Oils of the Bible
Born to Run
Grace for the Good Girl

What were your favorite books from 2011?  Have you read any of these fantastic books?  Please, do share!  I’m always looking for good books!

My favorite is “Heaven is for Real”

  • Caroline @UnderGod’sMightyHand

I have several of these on my to-be-read list, too! I love Jon Acuff’s blog yet haven’t read either of his books, so they’re ones I’m interested in, too.

    • Sarah Ronk

I’ll have to check out his blog. I’m the opposite; I’ve read the book but never been to his blog!

I loved The Chosen too :) Some of my other favorites from last year were Gilead, Tina Fey’s Bossypants, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and Bill Bryson’s Home.

I’ll have to add those to my list!
