Bring a Guest Night

Day 16 – Bring a Guest Night

This year we’ve had two guest book club nights. The first was Bring A Friend Night in January.

This one blew us out of the water with our biggest crowd showing up to discuss The Help!! Because of such large crowd and being one of the nights we met in the cafe we split into three small discussion groups. That night I also threw in, just for fun, a give-away for an Amazon gift card.

The second guest night we had was Bring Your Daughter night for our Young Reader book. I don’t know why I didn’t think to do this every year since we read at least one YR a year.

This year in May we read and celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1963 Newbery winner: A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle. We had two members with daughters of reading age, but at the last minute only one was able to come and she. loved. it! I think she’s already planned a book club with her friends from her neighborhood!
