A Book Club Summer Picnic

Day 19 – A Book Club Summer Picnic

In the summer we try to keep things light with our club. Summer is when we have our Young Reader book month. It’s also when we plan a little pitch-in (carry-in, pot-luck, or whatev you call it from where you are) to discuss our long book for the year. This year we discussed Les Mis at the park where we first began meeting in ’08.

Last summer we took two months to read Gone With The Wind. It turned out that week it was SO HOT we moved locations and had an indoor picnic.

Your club can be whatever you want it to be. Talk to your core or the other members, put a picnic in the works for next summer.
