A Book Club Dinner Party

Day 22 – A Book Club Dinner Party

Just like the Tea Party and Summer Picnic our annual Dinner Party is always a big hit! The dinner party is probably my favorite though. It’s fun to get a bit more dressed up and sit down for a full meal with such lovely ladies.

We have always had the following dinner party plan:
Dinner:: Soup, Salad, and Bread while we just fellowship and play dinner party games
Dessert:: A hot beverage and a variety of tasty treats in the living room as we discuss the book.

It’s simple and easy and works every time! (The dinner party is mostly put on by the core. Often members will volunteer to bring in the dessert options.)

2012 Dinner Party: Ivanhoe

Each year we’ve played a variety of dinner party games. Sometimes we do more visiting and catching up during dinner than game playing but I’m always prepared with a few game ideas like I Have Never. One of our core member created individual question cards/ice breaker for each member in attendance. (You can see a few in the photos below.) Each member had a unique card with different “Would You Rather” questions, “Sentence Starters” and “If” questions. We rarely would get through everyone’s card and sometimes everyone would answer a question on one persons card.
(Let me know if you want a complete list of the question card questions.)

2010 Dinner Party: Mansfield Park

Recipe for crockpot Pumpkin Spice Latte

The Dinner Party would be the perfect opportunity to use those recipes from The Book Lover’s Cookbook or get a little more crazy and make it a costume party and dress like the characters of your chosen book! If you’re club does a themed dinner party please link back! I’d love to see and hear how it goes!
