Your book club dinner party sounds so fun! I just joined a book club and they always meet in coffee shops to avoid the stress of having to get out houses “company ready”, but there really is something special about inviting people in to our homes even though they’re not perfect. Maybe I’ll convince them to do a dinner party for the holidays or something.

Totally understand the stress of getting the house “company ready.” The first 2-3 years our book club met we would only met “out” -cafe, park, etc. Now we are meeting about every other time in someone’s home. It’s been a slow transition. Like you mentioned doing, we started out having our tea party, dinner party and Christmas party at someone home who’s willing to host. What’s your next book club read?

The Language of Flowers is our book for October, and I think after that we’re reading Gone Girl.
